They hope that many of the South Asians who live in the region will choose to support them instead of traveling to Connecticut to shop.

According to Koch, people can buy 10,000 different products at the store. The shop offers a variety of beans, from chicken to black-eyed peas. Spices commonly used in Indian cuisine, such as cumin and coriander, are available in four-pound bags.

Hauder said the restaurant will offer four beers on tap, draft and bottled beers, and a selection of premium beers and wines.
For the past few holidays, 7 Hill’s beer bars have offered a few party options, such as prime rib, as a way for customers to test the bistro concept, Hauder said.
“We’re getting to the point where pubs are stealing the menu and now we can put it on the menu,” he said. “It’s like you can get a burger and a beer at a restaurant, then a steak and a glass of wine.”
