According to Koch, people can buy 10,000 different products at the store. The shop offers a variety of beans, from chicken to black-eyed peas. Spices commonly used in Indian cuisine, such as cumin and coriander, are available in four-pound bags.

Beastro Se7en marks 7 Hill’s second location in Platteville. 7 Hills North September 2021 N. opened at 92 Main St. The Dubuque brewery opened in August 2017, and 7 Hills West in Dyersville, Iowa opened in August.

Hauder said the name of the new location is tied to the restaurant’s menu, which features the smoked meats as well as the 7 Hills brand and logo.

“Our goal is to open before graduation (May 13 for the University of Wisconsin-Platteville),” he said. “We’re seeing good things in the column, a lot of people going home and going out.”

Platteville Interim City Manager Nicola Maurer said 7 Hills Brewery’s license application for Beastro Se7en was approved at Platteville Council’s last meeting.

K To Improve Public Spaces

“We are thrilled that 7 Hills has chosen Platteville as its first fine dining location,” said Mawer. “We’re excited to have 7 Hills on Main Street and hope they do as well as they do with all the new businesses in town.”

Houder said the bistro is initially open for dinner, but 7 Hills staff are discussing eventually extending the lunch hours.

Hauder said the restaurant will seat about 50 to 60 people and is intended to be an intimate space for small groups.

“It’s going to be a little menu structure, not a big one-page menu,” he said. “…we’re trying to be a happy person, about cake, but not white napkins, $100 appetizers. We’re trying to be the best place in the market.”

Hauder said the restaurant will offer four beers on tap, draft and bottled beers, and a selection of premium beers and wines.

For the past few holidays, 7 Hill’s beer bars have offered a few party options, such as prime rib, as a way for customers to test the bistro concept, Hauder said.

“We’re getting to the point where pubs are stealing the menu and now we can put it on the menu,” he said. “It’s like you can get a burger and a beer at a restaurant, then a steak and a glass of wine.”
